With the help of his grandfather, Michael Kobs bought his first stock at the age of 10. He’d always been drawn to the financial services industry, but when he landed his first broker job, it wasn’t what he’d envisioned. The culture of sales quotas, company buy/sell directives and 250 cold calls before lunch didn’t fit Michael's desire to help people and deliver personalized advice. So, Michael became an independent financial advisor and founded MRK Financial Solutions in 1989. His work ethic, perseverance, and commitment to serving clients have been central to the firm’s success.
Michael is licensed as a registered representative, investment advisor representative, and a life, health, and long-term care insurance agent. He's a member of the Financial Planning Association and has received numerous recognitions from broker dealer Avantax Wealth Management for standing out among its thousands of advisors across the country. Since 2003, Michael has been named a member of the Avantax President's Advisory Council, Premier Advisors' Forum, Pacesetter's Symposium, and has qualified to attend the annual Avantax Elite Retreat. Michael and his wife, Jeanne, have two sons and enjoy spending time at their cabin in Northern Minnesota and entertaining friends and family.
