PLYMOUTH, Minn. (June 1, 2020) – MRK Financial Solutions advisor Michael Callanan has earned his Certified Financial PlannerTM certification through the CFP Board of Standards. The designation requires participants to meet rigorous standards in education, experience, examination, and ethics, and demonstrate a commitment to serving clients’ best interests.
“Michael has been a valuable member of our team for four years and learned advanced practices in strategic thinking and long-term financial planning by training under senior members of our team,” said Justin Prescott, fellow CFP® and financial advisor for MRK Financial Solutions. “With Michael’s attention to detail, thorough analysis and understanding of goals-based planning processes, we were confident he’d pass the certification exam with flying colors, but we congratulate him on this significant accomplishment!”
The CFP certification takes an average of 12-18 months to complete and includes a 170-question exam, 6,000 hours of professional experience and an oath to adhere to the highest of ethical and professional standards for financial planning.
“I’ve been lucky to be a part of the great team at MRK Financial Solutions and have mentors like Justin who prepared me well for the CFP® certification process,” Callanan said. "I’m grateful the designation affords me even more knowledge and experience to help clients pursue financial goals and use their resources to build the future they picture.”
Callanan was born and raised in Savage, Minn. and graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in accounting.
